"The earlier you see death, the sober you become with life."

While watching a documentary film about the Beslan siege in Russia, my deep feeling was overwhelming and humbled by those individuals who were there during the siege specially the children who were interviewed in the said documentary.

They were telling the interviewer about their harrowing experiences and how they cope up with life. One kid struck me most, he’s a 13 year old boy and he wanted to be the president of their country because he doesn't want these things to happen in his country anymore. He also said that he wanted to avenge the death of his playmates, classmates and teachers.

He wanted to be the president of the country so that he could eliminate all those militant terrorists who assaulted and destroyed their school. At such tender age, his determination was much focused and very bold. You can see it in his eyes and you can feel it the way he expressed his emotions about that tragic fate.

When you witnessed death and you were part of it, your perception towards life will somehow be jolted. To you, life will now have so much meaning, your drive towards achieving your goals, more personal.

I think God preserves those who have the highest purpose in life. Many died during the Beslan siege. To those children who survived the tragedy, probably God has plans.

To me, there are three things in life, why we suffer death or why we still exist in this world. First, we were taken early because our goals were already achieved. Also, in order for us to avoid any wrongdoings anymore, we were taken ahead of our time.

Secondly, we were so evil that we were taken early because so much harm was done to the society already.

Lastly, the purpose in our lives still has not come to terms yet; in other words, God has still plan for us, that’s why we are still surviving and living in this world.

It may be difficult to understand, but in its entirety, the more we personified life as "doing good and avoiding evil", better yet, "destroying evil and sowing the seeds of goodness", the more we will be committed on achieving such personal aspirations in life.
